Creative Decision Making
Creativity in decision-making is the ability to consider all perspectives and solve problems in a new way. One popular issue with creativity is how to unlock its power in decision making.
Creativity is the use of your imagination or original ideas to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, and possibilities that are useful in solving problems and communicating with others. There are two different types of creativity: Big-C Creativity and Little-C Creativity.
Big-C Creativity often occurs when extraordinary things are done by exceptional people. This is one reason why we often underestimate our creativity skills.
Little-C Creativity often occurs when average people come up with unique ways to deal with events and situations. Most people are unaware of it, but everyone shows Little-C Creativity.
Because of Little-C Creativity and Big-C Creativity, there is a lot of potential in decision-making in an organization.

Personal Creativity is Driven by Three Aspects:
Task Expertise
When someone has a lot of experience in a certain area, creative decisions are easier to come up with. Creativity often extends in new directions for something we are already good at, or know a lot about.
Task Motivation
When someone is highly motivated and works exceptionally hard to resolve problems, they typically end up accomplishing something different and new.
Creative Skills
Creative decisions are also more likely when people have strong creative skill sets. Researchers agree most can develop creativity skill sets such as being able to take criticism, staying resourceful, and being able to transfer to a “thinking outside the box” in different settings.
